O&P Hospital, the brainchild of Dr. Avinash Phadnis & Dr. Amita Phadnis, has been born out of Shree Clinic, a renowned maternity hospital of the late Dr. H.N. Phadnis and Dr. Avinash Phadnis.

Dr. Amita Phadnis established the first tertiary level NICU in Pune in 1992, known then as Neo Clinic, and she carries to the O&P Hospital 16 years of expertise and experience in the field of Neonatology and Pediatrics

O&P is redefining standards of healthcare in mother and child health care with its many hi tech features.

In addition to well designed space for deliveries, well equipped labour waiting areas and operation theatres , the international standard O.T tables, lights, anesthesia machines and so on, there are some unique and new equipments for enhanced care.
• International standard ‘birth beds’ (Hillrom Affinity birth beds), which are equipped with oxygen, suction and multiparameter monitors. These machines assist in continuous monitoring of pulse, BP, oxygen & temperature of the patient. and allow easy wheeling of the mother into and out of the labour room and O.T.
• An Obstetric I.C.U. (the first in Pune). For complications during pregnancy, O&P has a team of experienced gynecologists, anesthetists and intensivists available 24x7 with a dedicated I.C.U. and all other facilities like labs, X-ray, ultrasound.
The hospital is also equipped with several ultrasound machines and Non- Stress (NST) machines. NST machines are very important in monitoring pregnancy and diagnosing fetal distress.

• O&P hospital offers unique ‘Bili Blankets’ which are wraparound phototherapy blankets used for jaundice in newborn babies.
• A special pneumatic chute.. a network of tubes has been installed in all critical areas. It assists in quick transmission of medicines, injections, etc., from one floor to another. Therefore, the nurses or ward boys do not have to physically go to collect it, thus saving a lot of time in emergencies

• The Nurse Call System is installed in every room. It is a two way calling system between the patients and the nurse – so, instead of ringing the bell and then the nurse visiting and asking her problem, the patient can directly call and time can be saved. The nurse station has also separate colour coded signals for emergency.
