Oyster & Pearl (O&P) Hospital, the world class mother & childcare hospital, proudly announce the launch of their comprehensive Breast Care Centre (BCC), which is perhaps the 1st such centre in the country. BCC is a one stop destination to tackle all breast-related problems, with its state-of-the-art equipment and eminent panel of experts. This is a unique initiative taken by Dr. Avinash Phadnis, Founder Director of O&P, and his team which is backed by eminent doctors like Dr. Neena Sathe, Dr. Vikas Pai,

As per a survey conducted by O&P, the incidence of Breast Cancer is on a rise in India, as well as all over the world.
- In 1970 the incidence of breast cancer was 20 / 1 lakh, and today it has increased to 28.8/1 lakh women in India
- Every 3 minutes a new patient is diagnosed
- Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer
“Breast cancer is the prime cancer killer in women as Cancer cannot be prevented, early diagnosis is the key factor towards improving survival. Mammography is a very sensitive screening tool, to diagnose Breast Cancer at a very early stage, making complete treatment possible without radical surgery”, explains Dr. Avinash Phadnis.
“At O&P we have facilities for operating on Ca Breast as well as post –operation care, and Chemotherapy, and an excellent ICU to deal with any emergencies, all with a caring and sensitive staff all dedicated to patients with breast disease”, adds

All types of surgeries from Lumpectomy to radical & modified radical mastectomy, FNAC , excisional biopsies are conducted at O&P.
Benign breast diseases like fibro adenomas, breast cysts, nipple discharges, invariably cause anxiety & apprehension .These conditions need assessment and evaluation with Mammosonography, which is available at O&P.
