     The focus of all work done at Pediatric Physiotherapy Dept. in O&P Tulip hospital is enabling each child to achieve his/her potential. Early detection & early intervention are important steps in this direction.

     Physiotherapy is provided to facilitate and stimulate normal motor, mental & social development in order to improve the quality of life.

BOBATH’S NEURO DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING (NDT)

The goals of Physiotherapy are:

DEVELOPMENT OF MOTOR BEHAVIOR

• Normalization of tones
• Improvement of: Range, Muscle power, Posture
• Development of motor skills

1. Gross motor co-ordination

2. Fine motor co- ordination

3. Hand function

SENSORY PERCEPTUAL INTEGRATION

• Development of body image
• Visual perception
• Provision of splints
• ADL training

BOBATH’S NEURO DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING (NDT)

     We use the basic principle of developmental training “BOBATH’S NEURO DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING” (NDT) to treat the patients. NDT is based on inhibition of abnormal reflex and movement patterns and facilitation of normal postural reactions.

We also provide SENSORY INTEGRATION THERAPY for the management of:

• Autistic spectrum disorders
• Attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD)
• Learning disabilities

We treat following patients like:

• Cerebral palsy
• Syndromes like DOWN’S Syndrome
• Mental retardation
• Spine problems like scoliosis, kyphosis
• Postural defects

We also provide Physiotherapy for high risk babies in NICU & PICU which is based on:

• Chest Physiotherapy
